Coach departs Rodney Parade by 'mutual consent'
Newport Gwent Dragons have confirmed that they have now parted company with head coach Paul Turner.
Turner has spent the past six seasons at Rodney Parade, but he was suspended at the end of January pending a disciplinary hearing.
However Turner has now left the Magners League outfit by 'mutual consent' - with assistant coach Darren Edwards taking over the reins for the remainder of the season.
Turner said: "I've enjoyed my six years at the Dragons and am immensely proud to have been involved with developing this region.
"I wish all the players and staff my best wishes for the remainder of the season."
The Dragons have refused to comment on the nature of Turner's suspension.
However Turner had come under fire for an outspoken response to an injury sustained by flanker Dan Lydiate during Wales fitness tests, leading the club to issue a statement on his behalf in which he apologised for the comments.
