Griffiths & Davies head to Cardiff

Cardiff Blues boss Dai Young has bolstered his pack by signing Bryn Griffiths and Tom Davies from Championship outfit Doncaster Knights. The 28-year-old Griffiths has previously played for the Scarlets and the Dragons, and will provide competition to the likes of Bradley Davies, Paul Tito and Deiniol Jones in the second row. Davies, a former Wales Under-18s international, has come through the ranks at Doncaster but will head to the principality in a bid to further his international career. Doncaster have also seen Nicky Griffiths leave the club for the Magners League, with Welsh scrum-half heading to Newport Gwent Dragons. The former Wales Under-21 international has previously played for the Ospreys, Pertemps Bees and Cornish Pirates. A statement on the Doncaster Knights website read: "It is fairly common knowledge that Bryn Griffiths and Tom Davies are both leaving to join Cardiff Blues and, during the past week, we have agreed to release Nicky Griffiths to join Magners League side Newport Gwent Dragons. "On behalf of everyone at Doncaster Rugby Club we would like to wish Bryn, Tom and Nicky all the very best with their new clubs and we will no doubt be following their careers with interest."
