Hooker joins Cardiff after recovering from neck injury
Cardiff Blues have moved to avert a crisis at hooker by signing former Western Force forward Ryan Tyrrell.
The 27-year-old, who played Super Rugby in 2010 before suffering a neck injury that required surgery, will help cover for the loss of Gareth Williams, who has quit through injury, and T Rhys Thomas, who requires knee surgery.
"I've been very impressed with the facilities and that was a massive decision in me hoping to sign," Tyrrell said. "Just seeing the facilities and how the players react to it makes you want to be part of it.
"The set-up here is as good as, if not better than the one we had at Western Force."
Blues have also signed Marc Breeze, a former Ospreys and London Welsh hooker who had been playing for Aberavon RFC.
Well-travelled prop Jamie Corsi has also moved to Liberty Stadium following spells with Newport Gwent Dragons, Scarlets and Wasps.
The tighthead, 23, has always been highly regarded and was selected for the Wales squad to tour Australia in 2007.
