Watch Team GB's dramatic golden try to beat Argentina in the quarter-finals of the Rio Olympics

Great Britain secured their place in the semi-finals of the men’s Olympic rugby sevens with dramatic 5-0 sudden death victory over Argentina.

As the game edged into the dying moments at the Deodoro Stadium, Britain's hopes of a medal looked all but over as James Davies was sent to the sin-bin for a high tackle in front of the posts, giving Argentina's Gaston Revel the chance to kick his country to victory.

Instead, he pulled the kick wide granting GB a second chance as the game went into golden-point extra time.

Eddie Jones believes a good start will be key for Great Britain if they are to beat South Africa.

Tom Mitchell hit the bar with a penalty attempt but all was not lost for Great Britain and with just a minute left of the first half of extra-time, Dan Bibby sliced his way through the Argentina defence to score and send his team-mates into jubilant celebrations.

They will now face South Africa in the semi-finals after they ran out 22-5 winners over Australia, while the other semi-final will see tournament favourites Fiji - who defeated New Zealand 12-7 in the quarter-finals - taking on the competition's surprise package Japan.
