Former England flanker replaces Cheika

Former England international Richard Pool-Jones has been named as the new sporting director at Stade Francais. Pool-Jones, who won his only cap against Australia in 1998, has been vice president at Stade but he will now take over the reins from Michael Cheika. Pool-Jones previously played in the back-row for Biarritz and Wasps before moving to Stade in 1997. He won two league titles with the Parisians, before appearing in the 2001 Heineken Cup final. He will now be charged with reviving the club's fortunes, with Cheika failing to guide the club into the Top 14 play-offs during the his two seasons in charge.
