Fiji winger the first to leave relegated Mountauban
Fiji winger Vilimoni Delasau has become the first player to leave relegated Montauban after agreeing to join Toulouse.
Montauban have been 'administratively relegated' by French rugby's financial watchdog after failing to provide satisfactory guarantees for their budget for this season.
And although the club are appealing the decision, the 33-year-old Delasau has agreed to move on to Toulouse.
"Toulouse needed to recruit back-up after the numerous long-term injuries affecting certain players from the backs," Toulouse said in a statement on Wednesday.
With Montauban likely to have to significantly cut their wage bill if they are relegated, then more players are set to follow.
