Worcester have raided Plymouth Albion to sign Sione Tu'ipulotu. The Tongan international, who can play centre, full-back or at scrum-half, becomes the first signing by the Warriors since they clinched promotion back to the Aviva Premiership on Wednesday night. The 32-year-old played in the 1999 and 2007 World Cups and also enjoyed a stint with Newport Gwent Dragons between 2003 and 2006. "Sione has been one of the key performers for Plymouth Albion in the last two seasons," said Worcester head coach Richard Hill. "He's a very powerful centre and in the Premiership you need that type of player because defences are so well drilled and strong. "He has good footwork while having the same kind of destructive power as the likes of Aleki Lutui and Dale Rasmussen." Worcester secured an instant return to the top flight with a 46-32 aggregate victory over Cornish Pirates in the Championship play-off final.
