Leeds scrum-half drafted in as cover

Doncaster have agreed a deal to sign scrum-half Dan White on loan from Leeds. The 22-year-old, who has come through the academy ranks at Headingley, will proved cover to Chris Hallam after Lee Audis suffered serious injuries in a road accident. White, who has been capped by England at Under-18s and Under-20s levels, has previously had loan spells at Nottingham, Sedgley Park, Harrogate and Otley while he has appeared six times for Carnegie this season. However he has fallen behind USA international Robbie Shaw and Craig Hampson in the pecking order. And Doncaster boss Brett Davey, who has praised Championship rival Leeds for helping out, believes the deal will benefit everyone. Davey told the official Knights site: "It is a great opportunity for Dan, but it wouldn't be possible without the help of Diccon (Edwards) and Mark (Luffman) at Leeds who were very understanding of our situation. "I can't thank Leeds enough, it has been a terrible time losing Lee to a serious injury in such a horrific way, but Leeds have been through something similar with James Tincknell so were happy to support us."
