Tongan takes a break due to family reasons

Tonga international Will Helu will not be returning to Bristol next season due to 'family reasons'. The utility back arrived at the Memorial Stadium in October 2011, having played for Tonga at the World Cup in New Zealand. And although the 26-year-old had been contracted to play for the club for another 12 months he has now opted to take time out of the professional game for personal reasons. "It is with regret that I will not be returning to Bristol for the new season," Helu told the club's official site. "Due to family reasons, I will remain in New Zealand and take time out from professional rugby. "I had signed for next season and was really looking forward to pulling on a Bristol jersey and playing at the Memorial Stadium again. "I want to say thank you to Liam, Matt and the rest of the coaching staff for giving me the opportunity to be part of a great club. "To the Bristol fans, thank you for the fantastic support. You are the best supporters I have had the pleasure of playing in front of. "I'd like to wish Liam and the squad all the best for the upcoming season. I will definitely be backing Bristol."
