Morgan jumps ship to aid Pirates
Bristol's Chris Morgan has joined the Cornish Pirates on a one-month loan.
Bristol's Chris Morgan has switched to the Cornish Pirates as a temporary measure to aid the club with their injury pile-up.
The Pirates, who sit top of National League Division One, are short in the back row and the flanker has joined on a one-month loan to boost their options.
Bristol coach Richard Hill is a strong admirer of Morgan, but he believes that all three parties can benefit from the short-term arrangement.
"The Pirates have had some real injury problems and I've been a bit spoiled for choice in the back row where I've two extremely good players in Richard Martin-Redman and Chris Morgan, who haven't featured in the first team so far this season although they've both performed well in the A league," explained Hill.
"But we're developing Morgs as an openside and that's the position that the Pirates really needed help with so he's going down there to help them out for one month initially.
"He performed really well last year when he got his chance, especially against Wasps in the Cup, and he's a player who can raise his game on the big occasion.
"The Pirates are going really well so he'll be slotting into a good side and a good coaching set up so it's a good opportunity for him to get some first team rugby."
