Abbott reveals frustration
Stuart Abbott has revealed his disappointment at being dropped by England.
Wasps centre Stuart Abbott has revealed his disappointment at being dropped from the England squad for the forthcoming internationals.
England coach Andy Robinson named the Wasps man in his initial squad, but has since demoted Abbott to the stand-by list in favour of the in-form Olly Barkley.
The 27-year-old admitted that he had hoped to have done enough to feature in the autumn Tests, but he is now prepared to use the setback to spur him on to greater things.
"I'm obviously very disappointed to find myself on the stand-by list and not in the 30-man squad," said Abbott.
"However, I've now got time to concentrate on playing for Wasps and work on improving my form and game with the club.
"I've got a good few games to get my teeth into between now and Christmas and I'll be looking to perform, with a place in the England squad for the Six Nations in 2006 in mind."
