Trio depart Wasps
London Wasps have released Mark Lock, Jon Dawson and Tim Foster.
Wasps have shown the door to loose-forward Mark Lock, prop Jon Dawson and centre Tim Foster.Lock made over 50 appearances for the Londoners, but - with the likes of Joe Worsley, John Hart and Lawrence Dallaglio all at the club - he has found first-team opportunities increasingly hard to come by.
As a result, the 26-year-old has now decided to seek pastures new and a fresh challenge.
"I'd like to thank everyone at Wasps for their friendship and support over the last eight years," he stated. "In particular, my thanks go to the all the coaches I worked with, who gave me the chance to represent a great club.
"It's been a great eight years and I've loved every minute of it.
"It's a shame to be leaving, but these things happen and this will be a good opportunity for me to explore new opportunities and hopefully play some regular first team rugby elsewhere next season."
Dawson has left the club by mutual consent following the signing of England international Phil Vickery and has already agreed to join South African outfit Schotchekloof Walmers Rugby Club.
Foster has seen his time at the club blighted by injury problems and has made only a handful of appearances over the past couple of seasons.
Wasps coach Ian McGeechan was quick to pay tribute to all three players, insisting they had all made valuable contributions this term.
"I would like to thank all three players for their effort and commitment to the club this season," he declared.
