Tindall fit to face the champions

Mike Tindall has been declared fit to play in Gloucester's crucial clash with Wasps.

Gloucester have received a massive boost ahead of their winner-takes-all Premiership showdown with Wasps, after Mike Tindall was passed fit to play.

The Cherry-and-Whites take home advantage into their last game of the regular season, knowing victory would hand them - and not Wasps - a place in the end-of-season title play-offs.

Fears surrounded Tindall's availability for the crunch encounter after he was forced out of the weekend's 31-7 win at Leeds Tykes with a facial injury.

However, scans have confirmed no fracture to the England man's right cheekbone, meaning he will line up opposite fellow international colleagues Stuart Abbott, Tom Voyce and Lawrence Dallaglio at Kingsholm.

"The news is encouraging, particularly with the short turnaround we have this week," revealed head coach Dean Ryan.

"Mike is a key individual and we are delighted he is available against Wasps. We have no other major concerns ahead of this weekend and that is extremely encouraging."

Tindall proved to be Gloucester's game-breaker in the triumph over Leeds, picking the perfect diagonal line to scythe through the Tykes' rearguard for the first try.

Now he will hope to add to that score on Saturday, as the Cherry-and-Whites look to end the champions' title defence, live on Sky.
