Garvey heads to Sixways

Marcel Garvey has left Gloucester to join Worcester Warriors.

Worcester Warriors have snapped up England A winger Marcel Garvey from Gloucester.

Garvey scored an impressive 28 tries in 84 appearances during his time at Kingsholm, but he has failed to hold down a regular starting place this season.

Gloucester head coach Dean Ryan revealed the 23-year-old wanted a 'change in his career path', and the Warriors have pounced for his signature.

"I know Marcel very well, having signed him at Gloucester as a schoolboy," said director of rugby John Brain.

"He is powerful, quick and a top-class finisher.

"I am surprised Gloucester have let him go, but it won't be a surprise to me or most other people in the game if he does very well for Worcester."

Garvey follows former Bath man Lee Best on his way to Sixways, as Brain looks to replace the departing Nicolas Le Roux.
