Vaughan Going to be a Saint
Bristol have agreed to release Vaughan Going so he can join Northampton.
Bristol have agreed to release Vaughan Going with immediate effect so he can sign for Guinness Premiership rivals Northampton.
Saints have drafted in the Hong Kong international, who spent four years at Sale earlier in his career, to help bolster their squad.
Centres Jon Clarke and Bruce Reihana are both sidelined through injury, leaving coach Paul Grayson short of options in the backs.
"Vaughan is an experienced player who still has a lot of talent and will be a real role model for some of our up and coming young players," Grayson said on his latest recruit.
"He will provide cover in our depleted backline now and in the not too distant future."
Going has struggled to break into the starting line-up at the Memorial Ground this year as Bristol have started the campaign in excellent form.
He is grateful to both the club and head coach Richard Hill for allowing him to join Northampton as he looks to play on a more regular basis.
"I would like to thank Richard and Bristol Rugby for the opportunity," he said.
"They are a great bunch of lads and this club has made huge strides over the last 12 months."
