Allen agrees new contract

Anthony Allen has agreed a two-year extension to his current deal at Gloucester.

Talented centre Anthony Allen has been rewarded for a bright start to his fledgling career with a new two-year contract extension at Gloucester.

Despite only a handful of games in the Premiership, Allen, 20, made his England debut in the ill-fated autumn internationals and has been tipped to be one of the stars of the future.

And, having seen the product of their youth academy flourish in his first full season, Gloucester have moved quickly to keep him at Kingsholm until 2009.

Allen said: "It is great news to get the new deal signed and sealed.

"I really enjoy playing for Gloucester and for (head coach) Dean Ryan, so there was never any doubt about extending my current deal.

"We have an exciting team here with plenty of potential to win trophies in the future, so there is no better place to be right now."
