Zebre hooker Oliviero Fabiani has been banned for nine weeks for biting Connacht lock forward Quinn Roux.

Fabiani, who pleaded guilty to the offence at an independent disciplinary hearing in London, was sent off in the 29th minute of his club's 52-7 defeat in the European Champions Cup at Parma last weekend.

The Italy international, who has yet to decide whether to appeal the decision, will now be out of action until January 9.
