Fa'atau becomes a Warrior

Glasgow Warriors have signed Samoan winger Lome Fa'atau on a two-year contract.

Super 14 star heading north

Glasgow Warriors have announced the signing of Samoan winger Lome Fa'atau on a two-year contract. The 31-year-old joins the Warriors from Super 14 side Wellington Hurricanes, for whom he scored nine tries last season. That tally that made him the tournament's leading try-scorer, with Wellington also reaching the Super 14 Championship final. The move means that Fa'atau, who arrives after the World Cup, will join fellow Samoan internationals Justin Va'a and Opeta Palepoi at Firhill. Glasgow head coach Sean Lineen said: "He came over for a three-week period during the summer to show how keen he was before joining the Samoan Rugby World Cup squad. "He's a good lad and a good leader. I'm positive he's going to entertain the crowd with his exciting brand of rugby." Fa'atau added: "When I visited last month I was impressed by Sean Lineen's ambition and vision for Glasgow and am really looking forward to arriving after the World Cup and making a big contribution to Glasgow's season."
