Retirement for World Cup winner
Veteran prop Os du Randt will not be travelling to Britain at the end of the year after his retirement was confirmed late on Thursday.
South Africa take on Wales and in Barbarians in December but will be without the 35-year-old, who was a member of the World Cup winning sides of 1995 and 2007.
"We've been told that Os has retired, and we will, therefore, look at other options," said head of selectors Peter Jooste.
"I believe Gary Botha and Ashwin Willemse are not available. The balance of the side is of course paramount, and that will determine whether we select players who were not in action in France.
"When we sit down with (coach) Jake (White) next week, we'll decide how many players to take along. I assume it will be between 26 and 20."
Botha (London Harlequins) and Willemse (Biarritz) have not been granted leave from their clubs for the Springbok tour.
South Africa face Wales on November 24 and the Barbarians at Twickenham on December 1.
