Welshman commits his future to Sale with new two-year deal
Utility back Lee Thomas has signed a new two-year contract with the Sale Sharks.
Thomas joined the Guinness Premiership outfit from Cardiff Blues 18 months ago but saw his first season interrupted by a broken arm sustained against Newcastle in January.
He has since fought back to full fitness and has been a regular in Philippe Saint Andre's plans this term.
The 23-year-old - who can operate at fly-half or centre - expressed his delight at the new deal and set his sights on winning a trophy with the Sharks.
"I am really enjoying my rugby at Sale Sharks and would like to thank Philippe, Kingsley (Jones) and Jos (Baxendell) who have helped me improve my game," Thomas stated.
"We have a great squad here at the club and competition for places is intense.
"I want to do my best for the team and hopefully help us to win some silverware."
Saint Andre saluted Thomas for his decision to commit himself to the club, adding: "Lee had offers to return to play in Wales but wants to stay with us.
"Lee is a great young player and is important to my squad. He can play centre and number 10 and is a good kicker too."
