Blues lock escapes ban for fighting
Cardiff Blues lock Paul Tito has escaped a ban for his red card in the club's Boxing Day clash with the Newport Gwent Dragons.
Tito and Newport No.8 Joe Bearman were issued red cards by WRU referee Hugh Watkins after tempers flared and a punch-up between the opposing sets of forwards erupted in the 78th minute.
The fracas was seen as the highlight of an otherwise dull encounter.
Whilst the WRU disciplinary panel decided to uphold the red card decision, they also ruled that the incident did not merit further punishment for the former Hurricanes lock.
Bearman was not available to attend the hearing in Cardiff and will be called before the disciplinary panel on Monday, December 31.
Meanwhile, Blues flanker Ben White and Dragons scrum-half Wayne Evans are also in trouble after they were cited by the independent citing commissioner for indiscretions in the same game.
They will both appear at the same hearing on Monday.
