Eloff takes chance on several injured players

Lions coach Eugene Eloff has named a 29-man squad for the new Super 14 season. Eloff has named captain Ernst Joubert and loose forward Joe van Niekerk in the party, despite both carrying back injuries. South African internationals Andre Pretorius and Jaque Fourie have been omitted, but are still expected to play for the Lions this season. The Lions kick-off their campaign against the Cheetahs at 5.05pm on February 16.
