Good record saves winger from longer suspension

Queensland winger Digby Ioane has been suspended for three weeks after being found guilty of making a dangerous tackle. Ioane was cited after the incident involving Stephen Hoiles during the Reds' Super 14 loss to ACT Brumbies in Canberra. Ioane pleaded guilty to the charge and faced a ban of up to six weeks, but judicial officer Terry Willis reduced the suspension because of his previous good record. "After careful consideration, with Ioane's previously unblemished record and the remorse he has shown over the tackle taken into consideration, Mr Willis found that the penalty should be reduced to three weeks," said an Australian Rugby Union statement.
