Former Ireland flanker to hang up his boots at the end of the season.

Leinster and former Ireland flanker Keith Gleeson has announced that he will retire at the end of the season. Gleeson won 27 caps for Ireland after breaking into the team in 2002 to become a regular in their starting XV over the next two years. However, arm and leg injuries got in his way and he managed just four more appearances from 2005-07 despite getting over his injuries. 31-year-old Gleeson now says that he has decided to hang up his boots mainly to concentrate on his life outside of rugby. "I have thoroughly enjoyed my time with Leinster Rugby and am honoured to have played for both my province and country," Gleeson said. "My decision to retire is largely inspired by my desire to explore new avenues and opportunities and I feel now is the time to do that. "I would like to take this opportunity to thank my coaches, all the support staff at Leinster, my friends and family for their support over the last seven years."
