Topsy Ojo believes he is ready for international rugby and is hoping his Heineken Cup try will earn him a place in the England squad.
Exiles wing on a high despite Cup defeat
London Irish winger Topsy Ojo believes he is ready for international rugby and is hoping his stunning solo try in the Heineken Cup semi-final defeat will move him the right direction.
The 22-year-old, who toured South Africa last summer but failed to make his England debut, was one of the liveliest players on the field and claimed the man-of-the-match award despite the Exiles going down 21-15 against Toulouse.
And with the summer tour to New Zealand firmly in mind Ojo will be looking to impress Rob Andrew in the closing weeks of the domestic season.
"There's a lot of talented young English wingers out there," he said. "I've got to do my basics right but when it comes to breaking into the senior squad, it's that little bit extra that you need to set you apart.
"You need to show the coaches that you have something different. I need to keep doing what I've been doing, like against Toulouse.
"I'm happy with the way things went against Toulouse. I think I'm ready for international rugby but all I can do is keep playing well.
"It's occasions like Heineken Cup semi-finals that get players noticed."
