Former academy player agrees two-year deal at Leeds
Leeds have re-signed former academy player Phil Murphy from Guinness Premiership outfit Worcester.
The 28-year-old has agreed a two-year deal to return to the club he left in 2004 for Sixways.
Murphy made 60 appearances for Leeds before his move to Worcester and represented England Under-21s during his time at Headingley.
And the Beverley-born second row is relishing the chance to play for the club again.
Murphy said: "I am really excited about coming back home to Leeds Carnegie and rejoining the club. Leeds has always had a special place in my heart having begun my senior career here back in 2000 and now I want to help the club get back into the Guinness Premiership next season."
Director of rugby Stuart Lancaster believes Murphy's experience will be vital for Leeds next season as they look to bounce back to the Premiership at the first attempt.
He added: "Phil has shown that he has matured into an experienced Premiership rugby player during his time at Worcester.
"Importantly he is someone who knows our club and the culture we have here and I am sure as a Yorkshireman he will be relishing the chance to call Headingley Carnegie his home once again."
