Warriors ace yet to match his own high standards

Australian full-back Chris Latham has conceded that he has yet to match his own high standards since arriving at Worcester. Latham arrived at Sixways as one of the summer's most high-profile signings, however it has been a difficult introduction to life in the Premiership for free-scoring ace. The Warriors lie second from bottom, with only a sole win over Wasps to their name - while Latham has yet to find his best form after a stuttering debut. But Latham is determined to turn things around, starting against Harlequins on Thursday night. "It has been an eye-opener," Latham told Sky Sports News. "Super 14s is a quick-paced game... it is still physical but nowhere near the same physicality as here. "I have very high expectations and standards that I like to stay to. I didn't line up to those in my mind and to be honest, I have not been much happier any other week." However, despite losing three of their opening four games, Latham believes the signs are there that Worcester will improve as the season goes on - but first they must stop gifting sides chances. "For us at the moment, the opportunities we are blowing are giving the opposition fantastic opportunities and they are capitalising on them and really hurting us," he said. "But we are a team that creates a lot, we have been in front and had opportunities to win games. Over time we will mature as a team and improve."
