Lock handed one-week ban
Sale have been rocked by news that forward Kristian Ormsby will miss the Heineken Cup showdown with defending champions Munster on Sunday.
The New Zealand lock has been banned for one week by an independent disciplinary committee after being found guilty of a 'dangerous charge' on Julien Pierre.
Ormsby was cleared, though, of striking Pierre during the win over Clermont.
Ormsby's ban rules him out of action until next Wednesday, meaning he will miss the visit of Munster to Edgeley Park.
However, there was better fortune for Sharks' Rudi Keil, who had been cited for an alleged striking/dangerous tackle/playing an opponent without the ball against Clermont centre Benoit Baby.
The disciplinary committee found Keil guilty of commiting a dangerous tackle but found that the offence did not warrant a red card and accordingly did not impose a suspension.
They also found that he was not guilty of striking Baby and therefore dismissed that element of the citing.
