Scrum-half faces lengthy lay-off
Saracens scrum-half Moses Rauluni has been ruled out for up to 10 weeks after undergoing knee surgery.
The Fiji captain, 33, suffered an injury during Sunday's 36-19 European Challenge Cup win over Viadana at Vicarage Road and was quickly diagnosed with cartilage damage.
The injury comes as a double blow for Saracens director of rugby Eddie Jones, who lost another number nine, Neil de Kock, to a broken arm earlier in the new year.
Fortunately for Sarries, who are vying for a place in the Guinness Premiership play-offs, Jones brought in former New Zealand veteran Justin Marshall as cover.
"It's a blow for Moses and, after going for such a long time without any injuries to our half-backs, we now lose two in the space of a week," Jones told the
club's official website.
"Signing Justin on a short-term contract is now looking even more important but we can't go through the next few months with only two scrum-halves in the squad.
"So we will be looking to recruit another player in that position and we'll be doing that over the next few weeks."
