Ex-Ireland international leaves the Memorial Ground

Former Ireland centre Kevin Maggs has been released from his Bristol contract by mutual consent. The 34-year-old has 70 Test caps to his name, including featuring in Ireland's 1999 and 2003 World Cup campaigns. He made his senior debut for the club during the 1993-4 season before leaving for Bath three years later. But, having returned to the Memorial Ground in the summer of 2007, he has now decided to part ways with the Guinness Premiership strugglers. Bristol chief executive Steve Gorvett said: "Kevin is a Bristolian through and through. "He started out at the club as a youngster and went on to have a marvellous international career. "We wish Kevin and his family all the very best for the future."
