Four changes to the side to face Scotland
Italy coach Nick Mallett has made four changes for the trip to Scotland in the RBS Six Nations. Mallett has named Andrea Marcato and Gonzalo Garcia in his backline for the game at Murrayfield, while Marco Bortolami and Leonardo Ghiraldini come into the pack. Marcato, who started against England at fly-half, replaces Andrea Masi at full-back - with the Biarritz back handed a three-week suspension for a dangerous tackle on Ireland's Rob Kearney. Calvisano centre Garcia comes in at inside centre, with Mirco Bergamasco moving back to the wing and the injured Kaine Robertson dropping out the squad. Former skipper Bortomali and Ghiraldini come straight back into the side after recovering from injury. On the bench, Pablo Canovosio is also back from injury and will provide cover to scrum-half Paul Griffen.Mistakes
"The individual mistakes have cost us a lot," said Mallett following the defeats to England and Ireland. "We have given away seven tries in our opening two games due to our mistakes and this cannot be. "Against Ireland, we made 75 tackles forward and we only recovered three balls and this is a problem for us." But while the South African is expecting a stronger performance from his players, he will not be under-estimating the Scots, who are also searching for their first points of the championship. "Scotland against Wales and France played well even though they lost both games. "They have a new playmaker in Phil Godman, who is very fast and very dangerous in the last 10 metres." Italy: 15 Andrea Marcato, 14 Mirco Bergamasco, 13 Gonzalo Canale, 12 Gonzalo Garcia, 11 Matteo Pratichetti, 10 Luke McLean, 9 Paul Griffen, 8 Sergio Parisse (captain), 7 Mauro Bergamasco, 6 Alessandro Zanni, 5 Marco Bortolami, 4 Santiago Dellape, 3 Martin Castrogiovanni, 2 Leonardo Ghiraldini, 1 Salvatore Perugini.Replacements: 16 Fabio Ongaro, 17 Carlos Nieto, 18 Carlo Antonio Del Fava, 19 Josh Sole, 20 Pablo Canovosio, 21 Andrea Bacchetti, 22 Giulio Rubini
