Bath coach wants his men to 'go big'
Steve Meehan will be ordering his side to turn on the aggression against Gloucester on Saturday as they look to close the gap on the league leaders.
The Bath head coach wants his men to "go really big" against their West Country rivals after last week's disappointment against London Irish.
Meehan's men ripped their fellow play-off contenders apart with some fabulous free-flowing rugby in the first half only to see the Exiles claw their way back to get a 20-20 draw.
The deflating result leaves Bath four points adrift of Gloucester and in the last remaining play-off position.
Meehan insisted he would not be changing his high octane attacking approach for Sunday's clash at Kingsholm.
Formidable
Although he knows Gloucester's form has been below par, he is well aware they have ground out results when it has mattered to remain top of the table.
"We just have to play the way we did in the first half against London Irish," Meehan said. "If we don't go really big there is no point."
"They are probably not playing as well as they would have liked, a bit like we were feeling through December and January
"But they are still knocking out valuable wins when necessary. It is going to be very difficult no doubt."
Olly Morgan, who has not played since the Heineken Cup defeat to Biarritz, and centre Anthony Allen are set to return to the fray for Gloucester.
Allen's inclusion will leave Olly Barkley on the bench for the visit of his former club.
"Tomorrow will be about two really good teams coming together," said head coach Dean Ryan.
"We are both pretty consistent and are renowned for producing formidable contests - not just this season but throughout the history of the rivalry."
