All Black could be leaving Kingsholm at the end of the season
Carlos Spencer could leave Gloucester at the end of the season after admitting to being homesick and keen on a return to New Zealand.
The former All Black joined Gloucester from Guinness Premiership rivals Northampton in February on what the club said was a 17-month contract at Kingsholm.
However, the fly-half has now said that he has only signed up until the end of the current season and his future is far from certain.
"I've only signed for five months, that's all I've done, so I've got no plans at the moment," Spencer told the
Western Daily Press.
"I've said to Gloucester I just want to finish up the five months and see where it takes me. I've got no plans, we'll just have to see what happens."
Moves
Spencer would not rule out a lucrative move to France, but with his wife wanting a return home, a move back to New Zealand could be on the cards.
"I do miss home, I miss the lifestyle," he added. "My wife's missing home, she's nagging me every day that she wants to go home.
"We'll see what happens. I've not made decisions. I'm happy cruising along."
Spencer joined Gloucester in February after Dean Ryan conceded his plan to partner Ryan Lamb with Olly Barkley in the Cherry and Whites midfield had not worked.
With Nicky Robinson arriving from Cardiff in the summer to swell Gloucester's fly-half ranks further, Lamb and Barkley have both been linked with moves at the end of the season.
Centre Anthony Allen and prop Carlos Nieto are also reportedly on their way out of Kingsholm once the current campaign is over.
