All Blacks captain excited at the prospect

The Barbarians will face current Tri-Nations champions New Zealand at Twickenham on December 5. It will only be the fifth time the two teams have played each other at Twickenham, the last time being in December 2004. All Blacks captain Richie McCaw played for the Barbarians against the Wallabies last December and said it will be a unique occasion when the All Blacks line up against them. "I had a great time playing for the Barbarians last year and to now get the opportunity to play against them is going to be pretty special," he said. "Matches like this are rare and as there is such a long tradition of matches between the All Blacks and the Barbarians, it's going to be huge for the team." The All Blacks have played the Barbarians on nine occasions.
