Georgia will compete in the 2009 Churchill Cup, taking the place of Scotland A in the annual development tournament.
Scotland A to play in IRB Nations Cup in Romania instead
Georgia will compete in the 2009 Churchill Cup, taking the place of Scotland A in the annual tournament. The newcomers have been drawn in Pool A alongside Canada and Ireland A. England Saxons, Argentina Jaguars and the USA are in the other group. Georgia are currently the top team in the European Nations Cup table with the winners guaranteed a place in the same 2011 World Cup group as England, Scotland and Argentina. This year's Churchill Cup, an annual development event, will be staged in Colorado between June 6-21. The finals will be held at Dick's Sporting Goods Park in Denver, home of the Colorado Rapids Major League Soccer team. Having played in the event in the past, Scotland A have withdrawn so they can compete in the the IRB Nations Cup alongside France A, Uruguay, Russia, Italy A and hosts Romania. 2009 Churchill Cup schedule:Saturday June 6 (Infinity Park, Glendale)
