Frenchman among a host of new signings at Kingsholm
Veteran prop Pierre Capdevielle is on his way to Gloucester after agreeing a two-year deal at Kingsholm.
The 35-year-old, capped three times by France A, played for French side Brive last season and is now set to be reunited with his former Montferrand team-mate Olivier Azam.
"I know Olivier very well and obviously spoke to him before I made a decision," said Capdevielle, who started his career at Perigueux before joining Montferrand and later Brive.
"He told me what a fantastic club Gloucester is and how special it and its supporters are to him.
"I came over to watch a game at Kingsholm last season and I saw for myself that he was right and I immediately decided that I would like to be part of such a club.
"I am looking forward to the challenge of playing in England and playing my part in helping Gloucester challenge for honours."
On a busy day at Kingsholm, Gloucester also confirmed the signing of second rower Dave Attwood from relegated Bristol, while hooker Darren Dawiduik and prop Rupert Harden have arrived from National Division Two side Tynedale.
