Edinburgh have confirmed Rob Moffat will step up from assistant coach at Murrayfield to take over the full reins. The 52-year-old takes over from Andy Robinson, who left the club following a successful spell in charge to become Scotland's head coach. Moffat has previously coached Melrose and Scotland A, while he was assistant at Borders and Glasgow. And Moffat admits he is relishing the challenge of taking over the Magners League runners-up. "I'm really pleased to have been given the opportunity to take Edinburgh forward," said Moffat. "The squad has made a lot of progress over the past two seasons with back-to-back record finishes in the Magners League. "But the main aim for next season will be to improve upon those achievements and take the development onto the next level. "The squad is bursting with quality and potential and I'm really excited about what we can achieve together."
