Metro kick-off with a victory in Top 14 opener in Albi

Racing Metro edged a close encounter at Albi 19-13 to start their Top 14 campaign with a victory. The scoreline is fair reflection of a less-than-brilliant match between the two newly-promoted clubs. The visitors led 10-6 at half-time after English winger Dan Scarborough scored Racing's lone try. Albi replied in the second half through a try from full-back Benjamin Lapeyre. The match could have been a closer affair but for the inaccuracy of Albi place-kicker Blair Stewart French international skipper Lionel Nallet started for Racing with Sebastien Chabal coming on for the last twenty minutes, but neither set the field alight and an improvement will be needed before facing Toulon next week.
