Coach now focused to guiding Bath back to the top
Bath coach Steve Meehan insists he is focused on guiding Bath back to the top after he signed a new two-year deal at The Rec.
The Australian joined Bath in 2006 from Stade Francais and led the club to their first piece of silverware in just his second season, with Bath winning the European Challenge Cup.
And although Bath have made a slow start this season, Meehan is confident that the club will rediscover the winning formula.
"I'm very happy to be staying," admitted Meehan. "To continue working with these players, for this club, and its supporters, is a real privilege.
Values
"The Guinness Premiership keeps throwing up challenges to us as does the Heineken Cup.
"The immediate goal is to find the solutions that put us back at the top and then longer term to help the club maintain the recently established values that will keep us there."
Bath chief executive Nick Blofeld is thrilled that Meehan has committed his future to the club.
"We are delighted Steve has pledged another two years to Bath Rugby and the whole team, on and off the pitch, are keen to keep improving," he said.
"I think we have the squad, coaches and support team to be regularly finishing in the top four of the Guinness Premiership and challenging for major honours, domestically and on the European stage, over the next few years."
