Ireland prop now suspended for five weeks
Ireland prop John Hayes has had his ban for stamping in a Magners League match reduced to five weeks.
Hayes was initially suspended for six weeks after he was sent off in the 54th minute of Munster's defeat to Leinster for stamping on Cian Healy.
However Hayes and Munster appealed against the length of the sentence - with the IRFU appeals panel, chaired by Billy Glynn, agreeing to cut the ban by a week.
A statement from the Magners League read: "The IRFU appeals panel considered the grounds for appeal by Munster Rugby and allowed one further weeks mitigation based upon the record of the player."
The decision by the panel means Hayes will be able to play again from November 8.
