Coach agrees new deal at Sixways

Worcester's backs and defence coach Billy McGinty has agreed a new deal that will keep him at Sixways until at least 2012. McGinty joined the Warriors in 2004 after the club was promoted to the Guinness Premiership from National League One. Director of rugby Mike Ruddock is delighted to see the former rugby league star sign a new deal. He said: "It really is great news that Billy has decided to extend his stay at Warriors and we are all delighted that he wants to continue to work with the team. "Billy is hugely respected by all at the Warriors and his excellent work with our defense has made us a much tougher team to break down than in previous years. "He is a talented coach, a very conscientious and hard working professional. I'm over the moon that he is able to continue all his excellent work with us," he added. McGinty, who is now in his fifth season at Worcester, is looking to progress the club even further in the coming years. "I've seen the club really evolve over the last few years and there is no doubt in my mind that Warriors now has the right blend in the squad, with so many young players coming through the ranks, to be a success and move forward. "The players are a great team of professionals to work with, who make my job enjoyable, and we are all pulling together to achieve the ambitions and targets of our club."
