Prop poised for lengthy absence following verdict
Stade Francais prop David Attoub looks set to join team-mate Julien Dupuy on the sidelines after being found guilty of eye-gouging.
At a meeting on Friday, judicial officer Jeff Blackett found an act of foul play did occur in that Attoub made contact with the eye/eye area of Ulster and Ireland flanker Stephen Ferris last month.
Blackett had adjourned Attoub's hearing on December 18, imposing an immediate interim suspension on the player, who was reported by match citing commissioner Tony Lanaway.
Any sanction will be handed out at a later date, but Attoub can expect few favours after scrum-half Dupuy was hit with a 24-week suspension - reduced by a week on appeal - for a similar offence in the same game.
