Injury list grows longer for South African franchise
Central Cheetahs have suffered a double injury blow with wing Lionel Mapoe and number eight Frans Viljoen ruled out for six weeks.
The duo left the field during the 21-8 defeat to the Stormers at Newlands with flanker Hendro Scholtz also being helped off.
The injury misery continues for Naka Drotske's side, having already had Springbok flanker Heinrich Brussow ruled out for the season and lock David de Villiers suffering an unfortunate training ground mishap last week.
Viljoen (broken jaw), Mapoe (shoulder) and Scholtz (ankle) will all miss the match against the Reds next week in Bloemfontein.
Drotske said:"Frans and Lionel will have scans in Bloemfontein, but they will probably be out for a while.
"Hendro's injuries not too serious, so we hope he will be back in time this week."
The Cheetah's currently occupy 10th spot in the league having won two and lost three of their Super 14 matches so far this season.
