Now I wouldn't have said I am a superstitious person when it comes to sport, however the new ASICS Lethal Charge rugby boots could change that. After a run of three tries in three games since switching to the Lethal Charge to review them, I am more than happy to keep wearing them for the foreseeable future. Although the boots have been designed with forwards in mind, they are more than suitable for backs too - something as a centre myself, I can verify. The boots are incredibly comfortable to wear and are a good tight fit, while they offer plenty of protection to your feet from clumsy team-mates and opponents who might step on them. An added bonus is that with eight screw-in studs, as well as four smaller fixed moulded studs, there is plenty of grip - something that is vital for forwards when it comes to scrummaging. The Lethal Charge also boasts a 10mm heel gradient that ASICS insists "minimises the risk of injury" because there is less strain on the lower limbs. At around £75, the Lethal Charge aren't the cheapest of boots out there but you do get good value for your hard-earned cash. And although you aren't guaranteed to score every week in them, they should do the business over a long hard season.Locker Room rating: 5/5
