Former England forward Chris Jones is close to agreeing a summer move to Worcester.
Jones came through the ranks at Sale, going on to be named the PRA young player of the year in 2003 and to play a key role as the Sharks won the Premiership title.
The 30-year-old, who can play in the second row or back row, won 12 caps for England, scoring his only try on his debut against Italy.
However with new Sale sporting director Steve Diamond opting to rebuild the side, Jones looks set to accept an offer to move to the ambitious Warriors.
Worcester are favourites for an immediate return to the Premiership, with Richard Hill already signing Shaun Perry, Danny Gray and Ceri Jones for next season.
Worcester have also been linked with a move for Harlequins lock James Percival.
