Otago Stadium, Dunedin

Dunedin's new House of Pain

The newly-built Otago Stadium has replaced the famous House of Pain as Dunedin's home of sport.

The newly-built Otago Stadium has replaced the famous House of Pain as Dunedin's home of sport - with the Highlanders to play Super Rugby there from 2012. With flexible space in two of the stands, the venue's regular capacity of 18,000 will be increased to 30,000 for the World Cup. Otago Stadium, which will also hosts Otago's ITM Cup games, will be the first fully-covered grassed stadium in New Zealand. Known locally as the Forsyth Barr Stadium, the venue will change its name for the World Cup.
