Samoa RWC legends

Some heroes from past Samoa campaigns

Brian Lima

The tough-tackling back was just 19 years old when he was part of the Western Samoa side that shocked Wales in 1991. Lima went on to play in five World Cups - the only player to achieve the feat - scoring 10 tries in 18 appearances. However it is in defence that Lima really shone, with a number of players counting the bruises after going head to head with the "Chiropractor" - including a massive hit on Derick Hougaard in the 2003 edition.

Pat Lam

Few had heard of Lam as he arrived for the 1991 tournament as a raw 21-year-old No.8, however the world certainly knew of him afterwards. Lam made his debut in the shock win over Wales, before inspiring the side to victory over Argentina. Lam went on to appear in two more RWCs - once as skipper - and even scored a try in second shock win over Wales in 1999.
