'United are willing to let Van de Beek leave on loan'

The Transfer Show's Dharmesh Sheth reports that Crystal Palace are in talks with Manchester United over the signing of Donny van de Beek

"It is not guaranteed Donny van de Beek will leave as we are running out of time in this transfer window. Crystal Palace remain in talks over a loan move for Van de Beek and it seems it's the boss, Patrick Vieira, who is really pushing for this.

"It is thought United are willing to let him leave on a straight loan, as long as it is good for them financially and it is a good move for Van de Beek as far as his football is concerned.

"So United would want a loan fee and they would want his wages paid in full. Now Valencia are another club who are in discussions with United over Van de Beek, but is very doubtful they could cover his salary.

"Van de Beek's priority is to play football and there is a suggestion he feels a little bit let down by the previous boss, Ole Gunnar Solskjaer, because in the summer he was given some kind of assurance that yes, you will be playing football for Man Utd this season on a more regular basis. But Premier League starts amount to zero for Van de Beek so far this season.

"His contract is up in 2025, United have an option to extend that by a further year, so they have no problems on that side of it, they just want to make sure that his value is maintained, or at the very least he can go away, play regular football and then come back and then there is a new manager in charge at United. And who knows, the new manager might say, 'You know what, Van de Beek is part of my plans, you are still under contract for another three or four years, you are here to play.

"So his long-term future will be reassessed in the summer."
