In depth
Verdict
Quito undoubtedly still retains plenty of ability at the age of 10 but David Chapman's gelding may have to settle for minor honours here with preference for Balthazaar's Gift who gets the vote ahead of Vanderlin. The last mentioned is capable of taking a hand on the pick of his form but having been sent around the world for his races last year may be best watched on his first outing in the UK for some time. Appalachian Trail faces no easy task giving weight away all round along with Quito. Excusez Moi strictly has the beating of the selection on running at Leicester last time but there was little pace on that day and that may have suited Clive Brittain's horse more than Paul Cole's, who looks well worth another chance, especially as he is likely to have come on for that outing.
