In depth

Verdict

Special Day is hard to weigh up on his handicap debut having won his only start, a Sandown maiden, and he may be best watched with preference for Nordic Light who gets the vote ahead of Genki. The last mentioned has improved with each start but needs to do so again on his debut in this grade and Roger Charlton's gelding may be best watched on his debut in this grade. Makshoof disappointed when last seen but Michael Jarvis has his string in good form so he cannot be discounted, while Diysem may struggle to give weight away all round. Buckie Massa and Ingleby Princess would both be of interest if the market spoke in their favours but a safer bet looks to be Nordic Light, despite an 8lb rise for his recent success at Folkestone.
